So we are attempting to blog for today and yesterday. Starting with yesterday:

We got up around 9am or so, leaving by 1030. We had breakfast at the Starbuck's on the ground floor of the hotel and made our way to Harvard. We took the Redline Metro all the way out and arrived in Cambridge around 1115. We decided to take the Hahvahd Tour - the Unofficial Tour of the Harvard Campus. The Campus itself is beautiful, so much history there, we had a great time. The only problem we encountered was the heat and humidity. Ashley was wearing jeans and a sweater/shirt. We ended up shopping for an hour just to find some shorts to keep her cool.

Massachusetts Hall, the oldest building at Harvard.

We had lunch at John Harvard's Brew House on Harvard Square and sampled signature beers-Ashley had the lightest and Johnn a medium bodied beer.

After lunch, we were planning to visit MIT but discovered the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library closed at 5pm and it was already 3pm. We decided to forgo MIT and made our way to the JFK Museum, located on campus at the University of Massachusetts at Boston. There was a video that highlighted President Kennedy's life through his Democratic Nomination to the Presidency and from there began the exhibit. It was a fascinating time line of Kennedy's life and Presidency. After the tour, we went back to the hotel and decided on dinner.

We picked the B&G Oyster Bar, highly recommended by Boston Magazine, but when we arrived, the wait was over an hour, so we headed across the street to The Butcher Shop, where we had drinks the previous night. Dinner was fabulous, with no wait! We started off with a cheese plate, 3 different cheeses and a glass of Spanish wine. Ashley liked the cheddar, but was not a fan of the other two, although Johnn liked all of it. We both had the hanger steak, which was amazing. We opted out of dessert and walked the half-mile back to the hotel to call it a night.

Saturday morning, we woke up early to make the trek out to a bar off the beaten path call The Banshee. Johnn found a bar upon the recommendation of a soccer podcast called the Banshee. We arrived a little after 10 am and watched the Manchester United v. Wigan soccer match while enjoying some local beers. Ashley had a blueberry flavored beer while Johnn stayed with the Harpoon IPA. We ate lunch there (which was really Irish breakfast food).

After the soccer match, we tried to make it over to the Samuel Adams Brewery across town. We arrived a little after 1 pm, but were told the next and only tour available was the 240pm. The Yankee's/Red Sox Game began at 4pm, so we decided to go back to the hotel for a quick nap instead, and to head out to the ballpark early. We left the hotel around 220pm, getting to Fenway Park a little after 3pm. After walking around the entire stadium, we made our way inside Yawkey Way and had our first beer at Fenway. It took us about thirty minutes to find our seats - we entered the stadium at the entire opposite end - and took our seats at the start of the game.

The Red Sox overcame, 14-1, for a blowout of a game. The sun was very warm, but set around the seventh inning. We had a great bird's eye view of the game and enjoyed the experience of the Yankee's-Red Sox Rivalry.

After the game, we found a local sports bar (Game On) and decided to have dinner. After a 45 min. wait and 2 Samuel Adams beers, we found our way to the table. Johnn decided to go for the Monster Burget, a $17 Burger, 1 1/2 lbs. of meat, lettuce, tomatoes and a plate of french fries. If you finished the burger, you won a free T-Shirt. Johnn finished the burger... and the fries. Needless to say, he won the free T-Shirt.

Here is the before picture.

Here is the after.

After our dinner, we headed back to the hotel to call it an early night. Tomorrow the plan is to visit the Freedom Trail and Boston Commons- all the historical places Ashley wants to see.
